A Season of Firsts
RLCS 2026 is a predominantly team-based competition — but for the first time ever, across three game types, each with its own series: 2v2 joins the popular 3v3 and 1v1, which itself debuted last year. The total prize pool this season is $6.1 million, spread across the various stages and disciplines.
This season introduces new features including the inaugural Kick-Off Weekend and the integration of 2v2, extending the league to three competitive game modes. It's the most ambitious version of RLCS ever constructed — and that ambition shows in every corner of the calendar.
The Season Structure: Copenhagen, Boston, and Paris
The road to Worlds is long, demanding, and global.
Copenhagen — The Kick-Off LAN: New for 2026 is a Kick-Off Weekend LAN event for the top six teams from Open 1 in the EU and NA regions only — held in Copenhagen, Denmark. These teams compete for a guaranteed spot in a Major, plus potentially unlocking another slot for their region.
The winner, Karmine Corp, qualified for the Boston Major and gave Europe an extra qualification spot for the first and second Major and the World Championship.
Boston Major — February 19–22: The RLCS 2026 Boston Major took place in Boston, United States at Agganis Arena — an S-Tier tournament featuring 16 teams competing over a total prize pool of $354,000 USD.
The final was a statement of dominance. Team Vitality claimed the Boston Major title, defeating NRG Esports in a commanding performance — setting themselves up as the early-season favourites heading into Paris.
Paris Major — May 20–24: The RLCS 2026 Paris Major takes place in Nanterre, France at the iconic Paris La Défense Arena, featuring 16 teams competing over a total prize pool of $354,000 USD.
For European fans, a Major on home soil at one of the most spectacular arenas in the world is a highlight of the entire RLCS calendar.
The World Championship: September 15–20, 2026
The pinnacle of the Rocket League Championship Series — 16 of the best Rocket League pro teams with the most RLCS Points earned throughout the 2026 season will automatically qualify for the Rocket League World Championship 2026, which will expand to six days.
The RLCS 2026 World Championship runs from September 15 to September 20, 2026, with a total prize pool of $1,200,000 USD, featuring 20 teams competing across six days of world-class Rocket League.
The winning team will not only be world champions but will also take home $300,000.
The Last Chance Qualifier: No Team Left Behind
The Last Chance Qualification stage takes place from July 24 to August 16. It consists of an 8-team GSL play-in bracket, which then takes the top 4 teams and puts them into a group stage with the auto-qualified top 12 — giving every team one final shot at reaching the World Championship.
Also on the Calendar: Esports World Cup in Riyadh
Before the RLCS World Championship, Rocket League makes a stop in Saudi Arabia. The Esports World Cup 2026 in Riyadh features a Rocket League event with a $1,000,000 prize pool — making the summer of 2026 one of the richest periods in the game's competitive history.
The Teams to Watch
The RLCS 2026 field is stacked with familiar names and hungry challengers:
Team Vitality — Boston Major champions and early season frontrunners, with the consistency and experience to challenge for a World Championship title.
Karmine Corp — Kick-Off Weekend winners who unlocked an extra European slot, giving French fans a perennial darling to cheer for.
NRG Esports — North America's most reliable powerhouse, Boston Major finalists, and perennial World Championship contenders.
Gentle Mates Alpine, Team Falcons, Shopify Rebellion, and Karmine Corp round out a European and North American field as deep and competitive as any in RLCS history.
A Legacy 15 Seasons in the Making
Turbopolsa has won the most World Championships with four. Vatira has won the most Majors with three. These are the records that define RLCS history — and in September 2026, someone will have the chance to add their name to that legendary list.
From a $55,000 prize pool at Avalon Hollywood in 2016 to $6.1 million across three game modes in 2026 — Rocket League esports has come an extraordinary distance. And the best chapter of all may be written this September.
The boost is full. The net is waiting. September 15, 2026 — it's game time.
